Progress...

We had our Pastor study again today and I am so encouraged. I was talking Pastor Peter Zulu before the meeting. He preached his first Philippians sermon last week. As he explained, I couldn't but be in awe. He shared how he explained the history of the Philippian church, the similarities to Zambia and much more. It was really great to hear how someone is coming full circle in both studying and the preaching what you study. He shared with me his outline from his expository outline sheet. I was blown away. I talk a lot about the inductive bible study part, but not as much as the expository. Expository preaching is basically exposing scripture where you expose and teach word by word what the Bible teaches. This is how you outline and then use the outline to lead you to heart and life application... So most everyone did their "homework" and as I was looking at what they had done, I came away moved and amazed. There were things that I hadn't thought, points that were insightful and challenging. I was just really encouraged. We had a great meeting. We canceled our Thursday class so everyone could write up a sermon. And, I'll report back next Tuesday on how they did!!! I have a conference this Friday and Saturday teaching, you will never believe it, Inductive Bible study and Expository preaching to about 100-150 pastors and leaders. On Sunday I will be preaching at a church in Garden. I went to the church today. It is in his house, in the living room to be exact. Bricks are the pews. It will be great...
