Going to Guatemala...

I appreciate your prayers as I head to Guatemala for a week to minister with our Northlake college group to the mayan people in thewho live at the location to your left (yes, that is the exact place we are going). They speak Mum, a mayan dialect and just about 7 years ago got electricty. We will be doing building in the morning and playing with kids, doing crafts, playing soccer and doing skits in the afternoon. We will also be visiting a hospital and going to church as well. It will be an exciting week... Please pray for our family during this time.

Sooooo Cool!!!

Check out this cool little video thing we added to our blog!!! Just scroll down and look right, and you will see 5 little videos either about our trip or about Lusaka, Zambia. There is a 9 minute video mission trip from a different group, but it is done really well. It will give you a great look at Lusaka and the type of ministries we will be involved in. And then, just to whet the appetite, we threw in a little waterfall video. Just click on the picture and away you go...

Enjoy!

What a deal!!!!

I have felt like an evangelist on the loose lately. First, it was Lasik that gave me 20/15 eye sight and set me free from glasses and contacts. Now, I am Logos’ favorite volunteer marketer (remember that Wendy’s commercial awhile back:) When I realized we were heading to Africa and that I was not going to be able to take my books with me, I began to get serious about learning the Logos Libronix bible software. The more I learned, the more zealous I became. I love this Bible software, and after attending a training, going through all the training manuals, and helping others learn the program, I am dangerously on the loose. I met with the Special Projects manager at Logos and we began to dream of how Logos
could help both missionaries in the field as well as national pastors. Well, I think the people at Logos figured they better join me instead of fight me. So, they have invited me to be a leader of a user group at their headquarters once a month and have even set up a special account so if anyone buys any of their bible software with my web link to Logos, then Logos will donate 25% of the cost of the software to our Africa outgoing expenses. So, now I am really on the loose. Seriously, though, if you are interested or have been thinking about buying
some bible software, I would love to show you how amazing this Bible software is and help train you in it as well. If you are interested, and you would like to purchase some LOGOS BIBLE SOFTWARE, you will save 25%, we will receive a 25% donation to our ministry to Africa AND you get some amazing software!!! If you do purchase some software an dwant me to show you how to use it, just email me... I would love to give you a demonstration. Follow the link and email me at sskbjallen@gmail.com if you have any questions!!!!

So what are you going to do with the rest of your life?

I received an email from Doug Nichols, the former director of ACTION wanting to let people know what the most crucial needs are for ministry:

The following is what I have done for the mission worldwide, which will change from time to time.
The most urgent needs worldwide for additional ACTION missionaries are:
a) Guest House Supervisor and Administrative Assistant for ministry in Gulu, Uganda, Africa;
b) Administrative Assistant for ACTION United Kingdom;
c) Short-term Coordinator for ACTION Philippines;
d) Children at Risk Missionaries
e) Evangelism and Discipleship Workers
f) a computer assistant for ACTION USA
g) Minister to Seafarers to be stationed in the Port and proclaim the Gospel to those who are called "The Strangers in Our Gate".
So, dear friends, let us lift our eyes onto the fields of the world ready for harvest, and "… beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Luke 10:2, NASB).

Sincerely in Christ,
Doug Nichols
