Four scores and seven years ago...
Or so it seems like that long ago, I could enjoy my panda puffs cereal whenever I wanted too... Of all the sacrifices I knew I was making in coming to Africa, including clean drinking water, malaria free living and simple conveniences, not having my gluten-free panda puffs was at the top of the list. Well, God is good and so are the Stranbergs who generously packed us a box of panda puffs on their trip back to Zambia. And here we are, now four gluten free peoples (I never had to share before:), enjoying our box of Panda Puffs. You may notice the box of soy milk. Upon learning that the girls are gluten intolerant, we also learned that we are all lactose challenged as well. We are so thankful for soy milk. When I came to Africa I thought I would have to give up cereal, but thankfully there are 3 cereals that are labeled gluten free in Zambia, Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes (a mere $6) and Coco Pops (also $6 dollars). They are shipped from South Africa which I guess must be aware of gluten for which we are thankful. Welcome to our world!
